The days are passing really fast, while walking through the city and exploring different parts away from the tourist areas on our way to Ratna Park and the Nepal Tourism Board. We need to go there a severeal times applying for TIMS Card (Trekkers Information Management System) and entry permit for Sagarmatha National Park, preperations for the Everest Trek. But we also use the possibility there to check Mail and work on the blog at the free tourist PCs and get water from the free water dispencer…saving money as much as possible.
Away from the tourist areas all is becoming more crowdy, noisy and dirty, but much more interesting and less expensive. We try different traditional meals, some prepared in hidden courtyards or from small cookshops on the street. Altogether we like the spicy and aromatic food a lot, havent any bigger problems until now. But noticing how they are dealing with meat until now I just tried vegetarian meals, Seven doesn’t matter that much…
Colors, smells and noises seems to be more intensive and challenge our senses. After a little time our sensation feels overstrained, but we are happy to experience everything like that. In addition to all these moments we meet nice people again and again, getting in contact whith Angrag, our guide for the Everest trek and his family, meeting Oliver from Denmark and having dinner with Namgyal, a nepali guy, who is such a kind person and unfortunately hard affected from the earthquake this year. It doesn’t feel that we are here only one week although time seems to pass so fast.
Tomorrow we are going to leave Kathmandu taking the bus to Bhandar (an 8 our tour, if nothing goes wrong) and starting to trek till Taksindo, where we will meet Angrag again, who will then guide us the way to Kala Phatar. From Bhandar we will go three days on our own, technical not difficult but demanding good condition, because the way is highly up and down.
The Route we start on Tuesday will be:
Big differences in altitude will help for altitude adjustment and the way to Lukla isn`t that much haunted by tourists, because most of them start in Lukla.
Our Route from Lukla will be:
- Namche Bazaar
- Gorak Shep
- Kala Phatar
and back again. We will be on our way around 20 days. As you can imagine there will be less posibility to use internet and all these things, so our next post will take some time.
Now we are locking forward on the next days, a little seeking for nature and the amazing mountains, hoping everything goes well.
